Nivar expected to hit shore between Mamallapuram and Karaikal

Chennai Meteorological department has predicted that the Cyclone Nivar is likely to become a very severe cyclone storm and expected to hit the shore between Mamallapuram in Tamil Nadu and Karaikal in Puducherry on Wednesday.

IMD also stated in its latest bulletin that cyclone Nivar will result in extremely heavy rainfall in several states, with winds between 120 – 145 km per hour and advised that the coastal areas could continue to receive heavy rains till Thursday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted to assure the governments of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry of all possible support.
